How can a group make a choice fairly? In this live lesson, pupils will explore how listening to different views and giving everyone a chance to contribute can help a group make a fair decision.
In this session, pupils will:
- Consider different ways a group can make a choice
- Share reasons for different options before taking part in a low-stakes class vote using J2Vote
- Discuss whether the process gave everyone a chance to contribute, and how to respond when a choice doesn’t win
- Create a “Fair decisions” poster in JIT Paint, sharing rules for including everyone’s voice
Learning Objectives:
- Describe one or more features of a fair group decision
- Share a view and listen to a different view
- Explain why a group’s choice may not be everyone’s first choice
