Accessibility features
The Just2easy Tool Suite includes a range of accessibility features designed to support users with additional needs, including SEND and EAL.
Speech-to-text
Our newest accessibility feature turns children’s spoken word into text on the page. In JIT and j2create children can speak into the microphone to record their ideas on the page without typing. This is ideal for allowing children who are not yet able to write or type to access learning within the classroom and at home.
Text-to-speech
Word banks
There are a number of word banks built in to JIT and j2create that support children’s writing and spelling. Word lists are organised by theme and link seamlessly with appropriate background images. Children can hear the word read aloud, and add it to there writing at the click of a button. Teachers can create and share their own word lists with children on an individual or class by class basis.
Voice recording
Voice recording functionality is built into the tools in a range of places. In JIT and j2create, children can record their ideas and add them as sound files to the page; teachers can use this to add instructions to activities or worksheets they have created for their children. Voice recordings can also be added to learning conversations, library resources, homework, and journal entries ensuring that teachers can give appropriate feedback and support to all of their children.
Site languages
The Just2easy Tool Suite, including all of the above accessibility features are multilingual. These features are loved by multilingual schools, and can also be used to support children with EAL.
